Apply to represent Team Kingston in the 'Championship' mini London marathon
Would you like to represent your borough at the TCS Mini London Marathon championships? Over the years, the event has launched the careers of international athletics stars including Laura Muir, Keely Hodgkinson and Josh Kerr – not to mention Sir Mo Farah, who won the Mini Marathon three times.
Championship athletes will be the first to cross the world-famous Finish Line on The Mall, the day before the TCS London Marathon.
The 2.6K event will take place on Saturday, 20 April 2024 for athletes in secondary school years 7 to 12 in the following age categories:
U17 men and U17 women, aged 15 or 16 on 31 August 2023 (school year 11 or 12)
U15 boys and U15 girls, aged 13 or 14 on 31 August 2023, (school year nine or 10)
U13 boys and U13 girls, aged 11 or 12 on 31 August 2023 (school year seven or eight)
To represent Team Kingston you must either live, were born or go to school in Kingston upon Thames.
When registering you will need to input your best time from a completed UK 5K parkrun for U15 & U17 age groups or a junior parkrun for those U13 runners.
You can enter a time from any UK parkrun or UK junior parkrun. Please complete any parkrun event between Saturday 23 December 2023 and Sunday 31 March 2024 and include your best time in the registration form. For more information, see parkrun.
The team manager will select the six fastest male and six female athletes in each category to represent Team Kingston and will contact qualifying athletes by e-mail during the week following the entry deadline.
(In the event of a tie for a place the applicant with the 2nd fastest parkrun time within the qualification period will be chosen, should this not resolve the tie then the athlete with the quickest PB at parkrun will be selected.)
All runners receive a Mini Marathon T Shirt which must be worn by all taking part in the race. Transport is provided from Kingston to London on the morning of the race (not return).
