LCR Met League Race 4 – Trent Park

A few of the younger members of  SMRAC went out to do battle in the 4th LCR Met league fixture at Trent Park.

3 races were competed in this time around – no adults were available to race so it was left to the U13 girls, U15/U17 girls and U15/U17 boys to show off the blue and white quarters.

SMRAC take medals at Middlesex XC Champs

A busy day for SMRAC club members was had at the Middlesex XC Champs held on Saturday 7th Jan 2012 at Wormwood Scrubs.

U13 girls -  4th Harriet Johnson, 13th Anna Uren, 14th Morgan Louise Penney 28th Issy Goffey. The first 3 girls won the Bronze team medal.

Charity fund raisers

A few of our club members are running to raise money for charity.

Hedy Lorant (the club Welfare Officer) is running the New York Marathon at the weekend to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign – http://www.justgiving.com/Hedy-Lorant

and Hannah Sutherns (coach and volunteer co-ordinator) and her boyfriend are doing something for cancer research this month  – running 150km  in the month so 5k a day started… Continue reading

LCR Metropolitan League – Race 1 (Claybury)

Saturday 8th Oct saw the 1st race  of the 2011/ 12 LCR Met league calendar. 6 SMRAC athletes trekked over to the other side of London to Claybury, 3 of them competing for the club in Cross country for the first time.

The youngest of these athletes was Maddy Boyles, competing in the U13 girls race. Maddy came in a very credible 11th  (14mins 04 secs)
