A few of the younger members of SMRAC went out to do battle in the 4th LCR Met league fixture at Trent Park.

3 races were competed in this time around – no adults were available to race so it was left to the U13 girls, U15/U17 girls and U15/U17 boys to show off the blue and white quarters.

U13 girls competing were Anna Uren (7th), Anna Pointon (8th) in her first outing for the club, Issy Goffey (18th) , reaching a team 4th postion on this occasion and a league position of 5th.

U15/17G had 4 competitors – a very strong Hannah Novakovic (1st), Emma Uren (7th), Jessica Nicholls-Mindin (8th) and Alice Hewitt (11th). This meant the team position was 2nd on this occasion and a league position of 4th.

U15/U17B had 3 SMRAC competitors – Ben Gibbons (10th), Sathira Don (25th) and Rob Eveson (35th) who’s performances meant a team position of 8th on the day and a league position of 7th.

Thanks to all those who turned up to run – good performances all around.

The 5th (and last of this season) is at Horsden Hill, Perivale on 11th March – hopefully there will be a full turnout to race then.

Kim Weir (Team manager)

The results from the weekend are available here. Please see the e-mail below from the league secretary regarding the mens results:

"There were 371 finishers in the men’s race, just four away from the all-time record field, but unfortunately there was a mix up in the finishing funnel with no “stoppers” being used, resulting in finishing discs being issued in the incorrect finishing order. With the huge field, neither timekeepers or judges were able to produce a complete set of results either. This means that I am still working on the senior men’s result but have decided to issue the results of the other five races in the meantime.

Despite having spent many hours on the men’s race already, I will continue to try and decipher for the information I have. Early this coming week I will issue a provisional set of results and give competitors and team managers a “one week amnesty” to suggest corrections as appropriate, before issuing the final results week commencing 21 November.

Sorry, but these were circumstances beyond my control.

Gavin"

Cheers
