St Mary's Richmond AC Helping athletes achieve

SWLAN

South West London Athletics Network

McCain are funding England Athletics to establish Athletics Networks across the country. The ethos behind McCain Athletics Networks is all about working in partnership.

Athletics Networks are clusters of clubs working strategically with other local key partners to develop the sport of athletics in that area. McCain Athletics Networks are a mixture of track and field, cross country and road running clubs.

South West London Athletics Network clubs are; Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers, St Mary's Richmond AC, Ranelagh Harriers, The Stragglers and non-club partner St Mary's University College.

These clubs have come together to form the South West London Athletics Network (SWLAN).  Two representatives from each club, one representative from England Athletics and a Network Activator make up the SWLAN Board.

SWLAN seeks to:

.     drive up the quality of coaching

.     form links with community groups

.     improve competition in clubs and  between clubs

.     share the best qualities of each club across the network

SWLAN has devised a number of projects which are being supported by England Athletics and these form the overall aims of the Network.
